Thyroid Trust Newsletter
September 2025 - Director Louise Sellar's final message
Dear Community,
I want to share with you that this will be my final newsletter as Director of The Thyroid Trust, as I will shortly be stepping down from my role. It has been a real privilege to serve in this position for the past three years, and I am extremely proud of everything the charity has achieved during this time.
From providing peer support for hundreds of thyroid patients and their families, to hosting expert speakers and webinars, recording podcasts, contributing to magazine articles, and campaigning alongside other UK thyroid charities and groups on the access of T3, it has been an incredibly productive and meaningful period.
We’ve also been proud to campaign for thyroid disease to be included in the Women’s Health Strategy, and to launch our Workplace Toolbox to support patients in employment and education.
As a thyroid patient myself, I have been deeply touched and inspired by the many individuals I’ve met during my time at the Charity, and they serve as a stark reminder that there is still much to be done to change perceptions of thyroid disease and improve the care and support available to those living with it. While I am stepping down as Director, I will remain involved in the thyroid space on a voluntary basis, and I have every confidence that the exceptional team at The Thyroid Trust will continue to advocate tirelessly for our community.
